Pieter and Gerida Booyens – owners of Stilte Game Farm and Bush Camping – have been travelling and exploring the rest of Africa since 2006. Their first trip was to Botswana. They both have a passion for nature, especially the peace and quiet that Africa and her scenery has to offer.

The quote is something they both agree with wholeheartedly.
Gerida:
“An African sunset makes you count your blessings, let go of the things that you cannot control, listens to your heart and just lets you breathe”.
With this in mind, and always nurturing the dream of having a piece of Africa one day, they could not forego the opportunity when it presented itself to buy a game farm in December 2020. This soon become their dream reality, their beloved “Stilte”.
Pieter:
“Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess. Just accept and trust that God has not given you a dream based on your bank account – rather the amount of trust that you have”.
They wanted a place where they could offer people the same experiences, they had during their Africa travels. A place where you can find peace and quiet again. Feel the sun rise and set, a place where your faith is restored, and you know things will work out for the best.
This is exactly how the name “Stilte” came about. Complete silence in harmony with nature.
Gerida:
“Memories are movies in your mind – if you don’t make them, you have nothing to watch one day”.
At Stilte life is not broadcasted, it is lived.
With this new venture, they are excited to see what the future holds, how this unfolds and how many will be touched by this beautiful farm.

CAMPING
Stilte Bush Farm is known for its deafening silence, amazing sunsets, and peaceful atmosphere. We are far away from bright lights and loud noises coming from surrounding lodges and villages. You may be “disturbed” by the call of jackal at dusk.
THE BUSH HUT
The Bush Hut is set within the bush and other campers cannot access it or disturb your peace and quiet. The Bush Hut is unfenced and game on the farm is free roaming. Stilte does not have any predators, so mountain bike rides and leisurely walks are encouraged.
