GENERAL RULES & CONDITIONS
IMPORTANT
It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the information provided herewith to ensure a pleasant stay for you, your group, and other guests on the farm.
The person that makes the booking will be held accountable to ensure that everyone in his party/group is familiar with the rules and regulations and that they act in accordance with these rules.
Our Bush camps are situated on a game farm where wild animals roam freely. The Bush camps is not fenced of and these animals might enter your campsite from time to time.
RESERVATIONS
Minimum booking periods are as follows:
- Sunday to Thursday – 1 night
- Weekends – 2 nights
- Long Weekends – 3 nights
- Easter Period – 4 nights
A deposit equal to 50% of the total cost of your booking must be made within 48 hours of receiving your invoice which will confirm your booking. If payment is not received within the said time, the booking will be cancelled.
The balance of the reservation is payable 7 days prior to your arrival date. If payment is not received on time the booking will be cancelled and any monies already paid will be forfeited.
Should the reservation be made less than 7 days prior to your arrival date the full cost of your accommodation must be paid immediately to secure your booking.
Only cash, cash deposits or Electronic Bank Transfers (EFT) are accepted.
CANCELLATION POLICY AND FEES
For cancellations more than 21 days in advance an administration fee of R 250.00 will be levied.
For cancellations between 14 and 21 days 50% of the total cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
For cancellations between 7 and 14 days 75% of the total cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
No refunds for cancellations less than 7 days in advance.
No refunds for late arrivals or early departures.
Reservation dates may be changed to another date at least 7 days prior to the arrival date subject to availability. A minimal administration fee may be levied for any changes to a reservation at the discretion of management.
In the event of unforeseen circumstance where a reservation was confirmed and the camp site or an acceptable alternative is not available the full amount paid will be refunded.
CAMP FACILITIES
There are no electricity connection points at the camp sites.
There are no water taps at the camp sites. Water containers can be filled at reception. Please use our water sparingly.
Each camp site has a designated fireplace. No fires outside of the fireplace is allowed.
Extra wood is available for purchase at Reception.
ACCESS TO AND USE OF FACILITIES ON THE FARM
Right of access to Stilte is reserved.
Access to and the use of facilities in and on the farm is at your own risk and the owners, management and employees are indemnified by you against any damage, loss, or injury of any nature that you or members of your party/group may suffer.
The owners, management and employees take no responsibility for any damage or loss to vehicles, caravans, trailers, tents, or any other property while used on the farm.
No pets are allowed on the farm.
No day visitors are allowed without prior arrangement with management. A fee for day visitors might apply.
The person in whose name the reservation is made takes full responsibility for the behaviour of his day visitors.
All day visitors must vacate the property before the main gate closes.
Strictly no fireworks are allowed.
Private vehicles and mountain bikes can use the roads on the farm.
Vehicles may only be driven be a person in possession of a valid driver’s license.
No off-road driving is allowed.
Motorcycles and quad bikes may not be used on the farm.
Always adhere to road signs and do not enter roads or areas that are closed whether it be by means of a road sign, branches or rocks that are placed across the road.
Always adhere to the speed limit of 20km per hour.
You can walk/hike on the farm on condition that you stay on existing roads and foot paths. Be careful, there are venomous snakes on the farm.
No driving, mountain biking, walking/hiking is allowed between the hours of sunset and sunrise.
The use of drones or any type of radio-controlled airplanes is prohibited.
Music and level of voice should not be disturbing to other guests at any time.
No music is allowed between the hours of 19h00 and 07h00.
No generators (even the so-called silent generators) are allowed.
Do not tamper with, deface nor remove any fauna or flora on the farm.
Fires are only allowed in designated fire or braai areas. No fires are allowed on the ground, paving or grass.
Firewood or kindling may not be collected from the veld/bush on the farm.
Extinguish all fires before retiring at night and be extra cautious when making fires in windy or dry conditions. Never ever leave a fire unattended.
Guests will be held liable for any damage to property and/or any costs involved extinguishing fires caused by their negligence. In some instances that might include damage and cost to neighbouring farms.
Do not litter. Do not burn or bury waste on the property. Pick up cigarette butts en make sure it is dead.
There are no refuse disposal facilities on the property. Take note of the recycling instructions to help us protect our environment.
All toilets on the property make use of a septic tank system. Please do not flush any foreign objects down the toilets.
Take care and leave all facilities in the state you would like to find them.

No credit will be given for any decrease in the number of people on your booking.
Should the number of guests on your booking increase, any additional charges related thereto must be paid in full prior to arrival.
Rates quoted are subject to change without prior notice.
Rates for Stilte do not include any levies payable to the Dinokeng Game Reserve.
Bookings for game drives at Dinokeng and/or the payment of Levies must be done at one of the pay points at Dinokeng.
CHECK IN/OUT & MAIN GATE TIMES
The main gate will open at 6h00 and close at 18h00
Check in time is between 14h00 and 18h00
Check out time is between 09h00 and 12h00
Check in or out outside of these hours will only be allowed on prior arrangement with management.
VISITOR’S RESPONSIBILITY
The person in whose name the reservation is made is responsible to inform all members in his party/group about the contents of this document, and to ensure that all members abide by the rules.
Camping at Stilte is entirely at your own risk.
Visitors are responsible for insurance of their personal belongings.
Ensure that your tents/caravans/trailers are properly closed and locked when leaving the camp site.
Children and minors must be supervised at all times.
Respect the privacy of other guests.
Use available facilities with responsibility and accountability.
Report any irregular deeds by fellow guests to management.
WILDLIFE
All animals should be treated with caution. They are wild and their behaviour is unpredictable.
If wildlife enters your campsite, sit, or stand still and allow them to move peacefully through the campsite.
While driving, mountain biking or hiking, do not scare the animals. Never ever use your vehicles horn or rev the engine to draw the attention of wildlife or to chase them away.
Do not feed the animals. That includes the birds as well. Feeding them creates problem animals and we will have to shoot them.
Do not attempt to touch or play with any snakes on the property. Stay calm and stay still until the snake moves away from you. In most cases snakes do not attack people. Please report any sightings to management with as much information as possible.
JURISDICTION
The guest hereby consents to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court having jurisdiction over his person in respect of all legal proceeding connected with this agreement, notwithstanding that the matter in dispute exceeds the court’s jurisdiction. Notwithstanding the foregoing the owner shall be entitled to institute proceedings against the guest in the division of the High Court having the jurisdiction in the matter.
INDEMNITY
The signatory hereto and in his personal capacity hereby acknowledges the hazards and/or inherent dangers with regards to staying/camping on the farm and associated activities and hereby on behalf of himself, my heirs and/or administrators or assigns hereby indemnify and hold harmless the owner and/or his management and employees from any liability or damages or delays or inconvenience or accident or any cause arising whatsoever.
COMPLIANCE WITH OUR RULES AND REGULATIONS
Any person who does not comply with these rules and regulations, misbehaves or neglects to adhere to any notice board placed on the farm, will be asked to leave the farm immediately, irrespective of the time of day. No fees or costs will be refunded.
The owners or management reserve the right to recover damages and/or costs relating to any damages to the farm caused by guests.
A certificate or statement signed by the owner or management, whose capacity and authority need not to be proved, is prima facie proof of the matter of evidence stated therein regarding any amount owing by the guest.
DOMICILIUM
The owner chooses as its domicile et executandi for all purposes whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of any nature whatsoever, the official address of the Farm as stated on official correspondence and documentation.
